Off we go
Happy New Year everyone!
We spent NYE in London with Tim and Mel, et al, and apart from being chased by security guards along the Thames for setting off fire crackers we had a relatively hassle free night.
Louise is presently putting the last of her things into her backpack as we are due to leave for Heathrow in half an hour. The next leg of our Big Trip takes us close to the cradle of civilisation and the lands of the Bible. First stop Egypt, then Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and finally Turkey. It will take us about two months but we will be flexible given that the political climate of the region may demand an early departure.
We settle in London to live and work on and from March. We hope to get real jobs with real wages (which will of course be offset against a considerably higher cost of living compared with Harrogate).
I have yet to write about our fabulous trip to the Algarve in Portugal a few weeks ago for my birthday. I will post some pictures shortly.
Thanks again to Martin, Sophie and Moritz for surrendering your London apartment to us for the past week.
Anywho, off we go...
